CCP Games, developers of EVE Online have announced a new expansion to be released later this month on 28th May, titled 'Invasion'. It brings the Triglavian race to the cut and thrust of the game and it will be free to download for all players.

EVE Online captures the decisions players make and make them have lasting consequences, it is one of the most played MMO games on the market and even being 16 years old, it shows no sign of slowing down. Players will have to defend their star systems for dear life, something they have forged over the years, forged by alliances or war, and now they'll have something thrown at them that could take it all away.

Bergur Finnbogason said of the expansion pack:

Capsuleers will be defending their territory from a fearsome new sect. We’re incredibly keen to see our players fighting for the star systems they hold dear against an increasingly serious threat unlike anything they've ever faced before!

The expansion brings about many updates to the game including some developments to the War Declaration system that compounds upon previous improvements made. It is also stated the expansion will develop on the recently added content and improve upon user experience to The Agency to get players access to exciting content more easily. The meat of the expansion however revolves around the some new Triglavian ships in the Tech II categories of the Frigate, Destroyer, and Cruiser classes, including additions to the Mutaplasmid system for players to loot from Abyssal Deadspace.
