Please leave your thoughts below if stars do not do you justice. Also, warn those of spoilers if you do decide to reveal anything. Also, this is not about Multilayer, so pretend that part of the game does not exist right now. We will have another poll for that after the Server Files and/or SDK get released.
I thought the single player was great. The one thing I didn't like so much about the first F.E.A.R. was that there wasn't much combat. You would run through so many hallways with sounds to scare you for 70% of the game and the rest was combat. In F.E.A.R. 2 I think they found the right balance between both mixing more of those scary factors into the actual combat - not just soldiers anymore.
*Semi Spoiler below*
The ending was pretty good, it makes you wonder what really happened while Becket was in the state he was in and how long he was in there till he woke up and saw what he saw. This defiantly leaves the door open for a sequel, one that I can't wait to get my hands on.

The biggest change is definatelly the combat, it's far more a factor in this game then it was in the previous one.... and definatelly harder. The only bad thign i found has more to do with the view then the gameplay itself... the grainy screen made me dizzy.
I think everyone who had sounds turned on in the end can tell you what happened... i can see where the 18+ rating came from. To quote a friend of mine: "atleast he got some before he died".
*it's safe to read again now.*

@Lea: I agree the combat plays a bigger roll, towards the end of the game I was running out of bullets to all my guys. I only carried 2 weapons and two super weapons most of the time. Rockets, particle, shotgun, assault rifle. Sniper would take the shotgun place from time to time. Found my self hitting ghosts instead of shooting them with one shot lol.
Who is to say he died? I don't think he did cause Alma was showing affection towards him in the end, I highly doubt he is dead and we will most likely see him in FEAR3 one way or another. Also, I doubt that is where the +18 rating came from. Probably had to do with so much blood, language, and then naked Alma on top of that.
*end of spoiler*

Good thing there aren't any cheats known.. makes the game so much better because now we won't have those "that game was easy!" comments from the people using ammo and god cheats. :p
well, i was merely quoting a friend, i never said he died myself. sure the place looks like hell, but i don't think he's dead. twisted though she may be, Alma alreayd lost most of her family, i doubt she'll let someone else she cares about die by her own hand. You might be right on the rating, it seems a lot of people haven't a clue at what was really going on in that final part of the game... xD

There are actually a lot of people complaining about how easy the hard mode was oddly enough. I played on normal and was having ammo problems. I will probably reinstall F.E.A.R. 1 this weekend and play through that on hard then follow up on F.E.A.R. 2 on hard as well. Both have great stories.

The whole game is cool but I don't like the end. Its very confusing. Probably will F.E.A.R. 3 come. 50 % scary 50 % fight :D and its cool to have some teammates who can help you.

Yeah, FEAR 2 does throw a weird ending at you but hopefully it will make more sense in FEAR 3. 2-3 years we might see the next FEAR, hoping Monolith will support this game for at least a year after release.
