The FC2 Digital Team has sent out their 2nd FanSite news release, and this one will give us a recap on what’s coming next in August. Included in this release is an invite for 25 people to play FarCry2 before anyone else, as well as information on what's in store for the Official Website. Another piece of sweet news will be the release of the minimum and recommended system requirements...
Hello, Here is full recap on what’s coming next in August.
We plan an exclusive Far Cry 2 game session on Wednesday evening in the business area (this is the day before the Convention opens for public access). We’ve been cleared to invite 25 people to play the game on the empty booth. This means you will have a first hand access to the game. Unfortunately the invite does not include other expenses (travel, hotel etc…). The team is still working hard on the game version for LGC, and as of now I’m not able to confirm the exact content of the demo, but there is a 80% chance that we will be able to show you the Multiplayer and Map Editor. I will update you as soon as the content will be confirmed. Please do not communicate this info yet, as it is not 100% sure. Please confirm whether you plan to come or not, we will then send you the invite with special access to the Convention.
Finally! We are able to confirm the minimum and recommended system requirements for Far Cry 2! I know this is an info many of you have been expecting. J I will send you an email with detailed specs on Thursday evening this week, and you will be cleared to post them on Friday, August 8, 2008 at 9am Paris time (not before, otherwise I will get shot on sight J).
We have a major update planned for the official website during LGC. Some of these changes will directly affect you. · Fan site list update: we are improving the fan site list on the website, it will now be dynamic thanks to a voting system. Fans can vote for their favourite website and select their favourite ones in the community section. I will send you banners to host on your sites redirecting to the voting page. By making the list dynamic, we intend to increase the click rate in the fan site list and hopefully generate more traffic. · Passport launch: we will also launch this application, which is a “gamer card” dedicated to Far Cry 2, featuring achievements tracking. It will of course allow users to track their in-game achievements after game release (MS achievements, Sony trophies, multiplayer statistics etc…), but it also includes community activity, which means we have achievements linked real-life activities (visiting a FC2 website, participating to an event etc…). I’m looking into ways to integrate you in the achievements list, and will keep you informed on this. Thank you for your support and interest! The FC2 digital team
Be sure to tune in throughout this month for more news as it becomes available...and don't forget to check back tomorrow evening for the system requirements!
