A special series of gold-plated PS4s and Xbox Ones are being sold for thousands of dollars a piece.
The consoles, which were announced by United Arab Emirates retailer Jumbo Electronics for the Middle East’s upcoming Games14 convention, were made by Italian jeweler Gatti and feature special “rose gold” cases. Both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 versions cost a whopping a $13,700.
This, of course, isn’t the first time someone’s thought of taking already expensive consumer electronics and treating them to a bit of the Midas’ touch. The UK-based specialty retailer Harrods revealed its own, $10,000 gold-plated Xbox One last year. Back in 2011, The Behemoth also hosted a Castle Crashes tournament with a working gold-plated Xbox 360 as its grand prize.
