Reports are coming in via Bloomberg that Activision Blizzard will be announcing layoffs of potentially hundreds of employees, as part of a "restructure" aimed at "centralizing functions and boosting profits"

It's been a mixed bag lately for the company, with stable performance from Overwatch but losses for the company coming with the poor performance of Hearthstone and Destiny 2, with Bungie splitting from the company last month also having an impact.

This is all hot on the heels of some major high profile losses for the company, including Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg, co-founder Mike Morhaime, and CFO Amirta Ahuja.

The apparent move isn't without some further controversy either, in the form of an alleged bonus of $15 Million to the new CFO, Dennis Durkin, something likely not to go down given the threat of redundancies now on the horizon.

It's proving to be a rough time financially for big publishers, with EA and Take-Two Interactive also seeing major drops in share prices recently due to disappointing sales and lower than predicted forecasts.
