For those lucky few in possession of an Oculus Rift, you can now enable native support for Alien: Isolation — as if the game wasn’t scary enough. This advice comes from the awesome MikeofTheLivingDead on the NeoGAF forums, so please direct all your thanks to him. Just don’t get mad when an already scary game becomes downright panic-inducing in a VR environment.

Oculus Rift Compatibility How-To Guide
To get the Oculus Rift to re-enable native compatibility with Alien: Isolation, follow the steps below.
- 1. Find the DATA folder and open ENGINE_SETTINGS.XML. Scroll down to Stereo Options and adjust the settings to match this:
Note: Angle brackets removed. Change the specific settings in this area to fit the changes listed below.

- 2. Toggle the Oculus Rift to Extended Mode.
- 3. Open the Oculus Rift Configuration Utility and Pause the service.
Now you should be able to start Alien: Isolation with Oculus Rift support.
