Ben Irving, who served as lead producer of Anthem, and has been a well known personality at BioWare for some time, has announced that he is now leaving the company after eight years.
Posting on Twitter, Irving confirmed that he has accepted a new position at another developer, but didn't say where he was making a move to. Irving wrote;
I will forever be grateful to all the people who gave me the chance to work on great products with amazing people. I believe Anthem has a bright future—there is a great team working on it and I look forward to following its progress (and playing it!) from the sidelines
It may be of some concern to Anthem fans that Irving is leaving. The game has had a very lukewarm reception, and even the recent release of Cataclysm has done little to improve matters. Could Irving's depature be another nail in the coffin for the troubled title?
EA has previously stated they want to try and make something with Anthem, but Irving's departure has surely got to be a blow to those efforts.
In any case, stay tuned to GameFront for more on where Ben is heading as soon as we learn it.
