EA are still keen to make Apex Legends as big in the e-sports scene as rivals such as PUBG and Fortnite, and their next stage on this quest is their announcement today of a new Preseason Invitational, which will be a three-day tournament that will see 80 teams competing for the $500,000 prize fund up for grabs.
The tournament will be a bracketed competition with double elimination rules - teams will start out with all teams seeded in the winners bracket, and the poorest performing will drop down a bracket each round until they are eliminated.
The final 20 teams will compete for the big prizes, each of them will get a cash prize, with the top sum up for grabs being $105,000.
The tournament runs from 13th to the 15th of September and will be held in Krakow, Poland. It's invitation only, with no qualifying rounds, but interested teams can e-mail [email protected] with their expression of interest, with full details on the EA website.
