The internet has been a little distracted by a certain Grand Theft Auto VI trailer this week, but there's another popular Rockstar franchise that might be getting a sequel in the future, at least according to Roger Clark, the actor who portrayed Arthur Morgan.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was a triumph, in my opinion, but failed to gain as much popularity as GTA V, especially with its online component. It's been half a decade since RDR2 was released, and according to Clark, he's excited about the future of the series.
Clark took to Twitter to praise the GTA VI trailer, stating that “Rockstar is going to head further into the stratosphere,” which led to a follow-up question from a fan about the possibility of a Red Dead 3. Responding to the fan, Clark stated he was “certain we will see RDR3 one day,” before adding that he had "absolutely no idea" when that might happen.
He also used that it would be unlikely we'd see Arthur Morgan return to the franchise, as "his story has been told, " and I think I agree - the story arcs featuring Arthur Morgan and John Marston seem neatly tied up in a bow, but I'm excited to see what the next chapter of the franchise might bring.
There's no official word from Rockstar on the potential for a Red Dead Redemption sequel, but it seems almost certain that the studio will return to Red Dead at some point in the future - it'll be a long while though, given we're still at least 13 months away from GTA VI .
