Soon after proving we were right by confirming that Assassin’s Creed 3 will take place during the American Revolution, Ubisoft has finally released concrete details about the upcoming fifth chapter (that is inexplicably called the “third”) in the increasingly abusive treatment of the word “trilogy”. Set during the entirety of the American Revolution, AC3 centers on Ratohnhakéton, a half English half Native American Assassin who “becomes the new voice for justice” in both the war of Independence and between the Assassins and Templars.
Ubisoft is making big promises for the game, including the biggest playable environment in series history, and more stylized and fluid combat. Locations ranging from famous battlefields to colonial settlements like New York City, Boston, and Philadelphia guarantee the usual mix of history and silly, logic-free plot. The only question is, will Ben Franklin play the role Da Vinci did for Ezio? Assassin’s Creed 3 is due out October 30th, appropriate as that’s mere days before the US Presidential election. What better way to prepare to exercise your constitutional right to vote than by reenacting the war that won it.
