Posted on October 23, 2013, Mike Sharkey Year One — Batman: Arkham Origins Launch Trailer
Two more days. That’s how long we have left to wait before dishing out copious amounts of non-lethal violence in the next chapter of the Batman: Arkham series.
Publisher Warner Bros. is reminding us of that fact today with a launch trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins dubbed ‘Personal Mission.’
This time around, young Bruce Wayne is learning the Bat-ropes in Gotham, and the established criminal underworld — not to mention the largely corrupt Gotham PD — is none too happy about it. In particular, Roman Sionis, aka Black Mask, has placed a hefty bounty on the Dark Knight’s pointy eared head, and a rogues gallery of villains wants to claim it. That’s the setup. Off you go:
With rookie developer WB Montreal taking Rocksteady’s place, Paul Dini not lending his writing talents, and Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy out of the picture, I have some legitimate questions and concerns about Batman: Arkham Origins. WB Montreal addressed the bulk of those concerns with a lengthy 17-minute Batman gameplay demo, complete with commentary, and at this point, I’m ready to throw caution to the wind and go all in on Arkham Origins.
Hopefully it hits the high-bar set by Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. We’ll all find out on Friday.
