CCP has released a new trailer aimed at showcasing EVE Online’s “true multiplayer experience.”
The trailer, dubbed “This is EVE” by the studio, was pieced together using “player-submitted voice comms” including “battle cries, calls to action, cheers of victory, panicked escapes and virtual high-fives.” CCP coupled these voice recordings with footage from the game to create what the company hoped would be a more accurate portrayal of the EVE than you might see in a more standard trailer.
EVE Online is, of course, famous for the amount of freedom that CCP gives to players when it managing inter-player relations. This freedom has, in the past, led to some of gaming’s most epic battles. “The Bloodbath of B-R5RB,” for instance, was fought earlier this year and cost players as much as $330,000 worth of digital property. The release of This is EVE, in turn, is likely meant to draw in new players as CPP prepares to launch the new Rhea expansion next month on December 9th.
