Civilization 6 modability will make us "go nuts"

At least, that is the rather confident claim being made by the developers behind the game, but are they right?

Firaxis, the team behind the game, are very confident in the flexibility and power that their new engine will provide. Modding is a key consideration in the new engine, and the promise of new mod tools and abilities within the new engine are, according to Firaxis, going to cause us to "go nuts".

I for one can certainly believe it. There have been many great mods for Civ 5, and Firaxis have always been a very mod-friendly studio - you only have to look at XCOM 2 for example.

It would come as no surprise to me then to see a great suite for modding tools, workshop support, and flexible, modular access to assets in the new engine. It is fairly safe to assume that modders are going to be able to create new units, modify assets and even bring in old favourites from previous games.

The actual details of what these new mod capabilities entail are still a secret, but with the game coming out on October 21st, we won't have long to find out. In the mean time, stay tuned to FilesNation for any further developments.
