There's been some long standing rumours that the third instalment of Watch Dogs, the first of which was pretty awful and the second of which was amazing, will be set in the bustling metropolis of London, England. Well now confirmation of that has come via Kotaku.
The rumours first started when Watch Dogs 2 had it's ending updated to make reference to "Brixton", which is a borough of London. Some Easter Eggs in The Division 2 may also have pointed to the same thing.
It's been a long time coming for a AAA game set in the UK capital, frankly, the last one I recall playing was The Getaway for PlayStation 2, a sort of Snatch and Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels meets Grand Theft Auto affair.
Rightly so, too. I'm bored of San Francisco and New York, frankly.
Okay, I may be a little biased on this one, being a Brit, but it'll be a great showcase for the capital, hopefully. Gunplay may be something that is changed, of course, as guns are not only very much illegal in London, it can be a very sensitive subject - that being said, I don't think gunplay makes a Watch Dogs game, so more power to them.
And hey, I got through this entire article without mentioning Brexit.
Dammit.
