Some interesting activity is currently going down on Twitter, as the creative director of The Division 2, Julian Gerighty, has been reaching out to see what fans might think about a single-player game based on The Division series of games.
It was in response to a tweet by the level director at TT Games (formerly Travellers Tales) who talked about the idea of a single player focused game.

Julian then put the out the idea to fans to see what they thought. The idea Tim came up with was of an agent trying to get home to their family after being sent to New York City, during the SHD blackout after the fall of Washington DC.
It would be interesting to explore in more depth that character development, the difficulties and sacrifices made by an agent of Division. It's got a lot of potential.
It seems the idea has caught Gerighty's attention at the very least. If it will ever happen, who knows?
