I admit that I hate solo wandering/puzzle games – if, that is, I understand what the genre even is. The first thing that comes to mind when I read the words “solo wanderer” and “puzzles” is Shadow of the Colossus, which I know I’m supposed to consider an enduring artistic triumph, but actually just bores me to tears. (Feel free to make fun of me in comments).

But damn if the trailer for Xing, an upcoming first person adventure from JT Studios, didn’t hook me from the start. The premise is familiar: your character has crashed on a mysterious island which you must explore, solving puzzles in order to escape. But the atmospheric music and absolutely gorgeous graphics made my mouth drop. I’m also intrigued by promised features like interactive musical cues related to the original score. Check out the trailer and see for yourself.
