Dragon Age: Inquisition won’t be launching on its planned October release date.
This was revealed yesterday in a posting on the official Dragon Age website where executive producer Mark Darrah announced that it was being pushed back from its October 7th release to November 18th (November 21st in Europe). According to Darrah, the extra month will be used to polish the game to shiny, epic perfection.
“This last bit of time is about polishing the experience we want you to see,” he stated. “Ensuring that our open spaces are as engaging as possible. Strengthening the emotional impact of the Hero’s choices. And ensuring the experience you get is the best it can be in the platform you choose to play on.”
While this move is likely to irk some fans of the franchise, it’s arguably smart for Bioware to take the extra time needed to make sure the game is done. This is especially the case when you consider that Dragon Age 2 caught a lot of criticism for cutting corners by doing things like repeating environments and such.Simply put, if a few extra weeks in the oven can keep this cookie from crumbling, it’s time well worth waiting.
