Elden Ring producer shares Shadow of the Erdtree image that has major Bloodborne vibes

Hype for Elden Ring's first, and so far only confirmed DLC has been pretty high lately, with FromSoftware showing off an image last week that seemed to show an Omen wielding a new weapon type. One of the game's producers, Yasuhiro Kitao, has now also popped out of the woodwork to add more fuel to the fire after a three-month hiatus from his socials.

The part that has everyone riled up, though, is the fact the image Kitao posted is steeped in Bloodborne vibes - to the point that people assumed that is what it was - before noticing the Grace in the background of the shot.

Kitao's last activity on Twitter was on February 21, when he expressed his gratitude to the Elden Ring community for their patience regarding the upcoming DLC. In a humorous twist, he joked that die-hard fans might go to extreme lengths, such as selling a kidney, to get their hands on the DLC early. Kita

The screenshot he shared looks rather strikingly like Bloodborne's Yharnam. It has that trademark Gothic atmosphere of Yharnam, at least. Since there's no text or any detail provided, we only have that light from the Grace to go on, but it seems likely related to Elden Ring's upcoming DLC, at the very least. While I've never personally played Bloodborne, I know its Gothic vibes hold a special place in the hearts of many Souls fans, so it'll be cool to see it return.

Based on the architecture, I'm guessing this is one of the grand legacy dungeons in the DLC. The lit hallways, central throne, and overall decor suggest it's a sizable castle-type dungeon. The main chamber, which houses the Site of Grace, resembles a cathedral with impressive spires in the backdrop. The thin, dark points make it hard to see clearly, but the elevated windows in the background indicate that this is a multi-level environment.

We'll find out soon enough, I suppose. Shadow of the Erdtree is set to release on June 21st, 2024, but while you wait, why not check out our co-op playthrough of Elden Ring over on our YouTube channel?
