Posted on April 4, 2014, GameFront Staff Elder Scrolls Online: How to Upgrade Inventory Space
Need more space to carry loot in Elder Scrolls Online? Everyone does, but it isn’t always obvious where to go. There’s a merchant in each faction’s starting city that’ll sell more inventory slots. See where to go to find these guys below.
Thanks to account-shared banks, inventory starts out pretty plentiful. But, if you’re getting into crafting like us, you’ll find your bag full of materials, food ingredients, enchanting items, and tons of everything else you’ll come across running through the expansive environments. Don’t let those limited slots get you down.
How to Upgrade Backpack Space
Starting out, you begin with 50 personal inventory slots, and 50 bank inventory slots.
To upgrade your personal inventory by +10 spaces, talk to backpack merchants located in all three major starting cities. You can find them in the market place. Look for merchants near a tilting scales icon on the map.
Mounts will also increase your inventory space. By feeding them certain foods daily at the Stables, you can upgrade their default number of item slots.
The first inventory upgrade costs 400 Gold for a maximum of 60 inventory slots. The second upgrade costs 2,000 Gold for a maximum of 70 inventory slots.
Backpack Merchants will continue to sell slots until you’ve hit the upper limit of 200 inventory slots.
Banks will also sell upgraded inventory. The first upgrade costs 1000 Gold for a new maximum of 60 bank inventory slots. Go to a Bank and fill it completely to get a new option on the bottom of the screen, allowing you to purchase more space.
Backpack Merchant Locations Davon’s Watch (Stonefalls): In the market, look for a tent southeast of the icon, in a corner near the exterior walls. Vulkhel Guard (Auridon): Travel southeast from the Mage’s Guild to find the backpack merchant’s tent. Daggerfall (Glenumbra): North of the Bank, you’ll find the backpack merchant near a travelling cart. More Elder Scrolls Online collectible guides, secrets, and extras.
