Epic Games gives employees two weeks off work

By FileTrekker 4 years ago, last updated 4 years ago

Epic Games employees are pretty pleased today as the company has officially given the entire company two weeks off work.

The company has closed it's Cary, N.C. office for two weeks, leading up to July 8th. It's been no secret that the runaway success of Fortnite has meant long hours and few holidays for the company's employees, so the two weeks off work are very much welcome. The company normally gives employees two weeks off over Christmas, but this is an unexpected summer break.

There's going to be some knock-on effects to players as a result - while new Season 9 content will appear on a schedule, there'll be no competative tournaments during the "Fortnite" off (sorry, I couldn't help myself) - but that there will be staff available on call to respond to any major issues or outages.

The company employs around 1,000 individuals with it's headquarters in Cary, North Carolina.
