It's been one heck of a drama, and it all started when the B.R.U.T.E. mechs were introduced at the start of Fornite Season 10, leading to complaints from streamers and even champions, who demanded that the feature was either nerfed or removed altogether. This was then followed by a statement from Epic who refused to acknowledge that the B.R.U.T.E. mech was a genuine problem. It seems now though that the company has had a change of heart, most likely due to overwhelming fan demand, as the mechs have now finally be given a serious nerfing.
The feature has been the subject of complaints since it first launched - the mech features a missile launcher that has been wiping out players before they even knew it was there, and despite some attempts to make the mech approach louder, it did little to quel the complaints. Epic followed this up by claiming it was all a to-do about nothing, releasing some graphs claiming less than 10% of eliminations were caused by the new mech.
Now it seems they've decided to yield to fan demand and make changes to the feature. The spawn rate has now been reduced even further, making them quite rare to find, and in addition their rocket damage has been significantly reduced, along with their area of effect.
The company still argue that the feature helps new players who are less experienced to be able to hold their own within the game, making it more accessible. It remains to be seen if these changes are enough to address the complaints, though, but stay tuned to GameFront and let us know down below your thoughts on the changes.
