Yes, folks. It's another of these - another Bethesda article, another console mods article, and another "Oh, they've finally gotten around to it, then?" article. But it needs to be written, and I've bravely picked up the mantle from FileTrekker on this one.
This time around, it's a bit more positive. The PlayStation 4 version of Fallout 4 will be receiving its Pro update this next week. It's quite an extensive mod that will improve both the base game, as well as extend the moddability side of things.
Unfortunately, Bethesda haven't seen fit to bless us mortals with specifics on what changes they're bringing to the mod side, but they promise to say more about that before the patch releases. What could it be? More storage space? Audio mods? A relaxation on the rules? Time will tell, folks.
In the meantime, however, I'm pleased to bring you a brief overview of what's being added in the Pro patch;
* Native 1440p Resolution * Enhanced draw distance for trees, grass, objects, and NPCs * Enhanced Godray effectsNOTE These changes are only valid if you're playing the game on a PS4 Pro unit - they will not affect the standard game for obvious reasons.
Are you on PC, then worry not! Bethesda has not forgotten you, either. Alongside the above patch, the PC will receive a High Resolution Texture Pack. It will be quite a sizeable package, clocking in at 58 GB of additional space required to use, as well as a very beastly set of system requirements;
Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required) Intel Core i7-5820K or better GTX 1080 8GB 8GB+ RamBethesda have stated that these will be changeable within the game launcher, so you can download the high resolution textures, test them, and just uninstall them again if you don't find them either pretty enough or running well enough.
