The team creating Fallout: New California, a mod to introduce an all-new story within the Fallout Universe in the New Vegas engine, has released some more information about an upcoming beta version.
The mod sees an adopted resident of Vault 18 embark on a new journey through the wastelands of the New California Republic's Cajon Pass. The mod serves a an unofficial prequel to New Vegas, and adds many hours of new content, gameplay, and voice acting.
The mod boasts over 14,000 lines of newly voiced dialogue, about 1/4th of a full AAA Fallout Game of today, with plenty of new quests and storyline to explore. There are different paths and branches to explore, too, as you would expect from any Fallout title, giving the mod great replay value.
Some branches have you joining the Enclave as a lone covert Agent versus you and your Wasteland Scout buddies questing together, or joining the NCR as opposed to the Raider Alliance. If you choose that last branch it's literally because you took a right turn at a forked road after being warned what's up there, and that decision GIVES YOU EFFECTIVELY ANOTHER MOD'S WORTH OF CONTENT.
With over 12 endings and lots of new content to explore, this mod is well worth checking out for any Fallout fan.
