Square Enix, developers of Final Fantasy XV, are releasing their official 'Mod Organiser' tools this coming Thursday, June 7th, allowing players to implement mods that can change characters, enemies, weapons and other changes into the game.
The game will pick up Steam Workshop support, allowing players to share their creations, and although there are some community guidelines that you will need to follow, this is just the beginning of the planned modding support that the game will receive.
While the tools won't allow the full expandability of the game with new quests or characters, eventually players will be able to create their own dungeons, small locations, and other assets.
The video above shows the tools in action, and the possibilities that will be available in the game. Square Enix themselves demonstrated how the tools could be used to create a miniature golf game, for example, so while not entirely unlimited, the tools are pretty powerful and will add plenty of avenues for modders to get creative.
