It's happening! We've known for the past few days that Rockstar are working on a sequel to their 2010 hit, Red Dead Redemption. But today, we got the first real glimpse at what we can expect. And it's bound to get your revolver spinnin' in its holster.
The trailer, which is no doubt the first of many, shows off a number of environments. It all looks to be in-game, not pre-rendered cutscenes, and shows off a very northern and midwestern setting, with some landscapes reminiscent of the original game.
There's still no indication whether it's a prequel or a sequel, but at least now we know that we can expect wide open ranges, cattle, and potentially boating. Because who hasn't wanted to sail the great rivers of North America in a boat? Just admit it. You have.
The trailer description itself seems to support the idea that it's going to have a focus on the midwest;
Developed by the creators of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will retail in Fall 2017 on Xbox One and Playstation 4, and will cost $60 / €70.
