When Season 9 of Fortnite went out with a giant mech fight, it heralded the introduction of B.R.U.T.E. for Season 10, a two-person mech that many fans feel is far too overpowered and spoiling the game.
Fans have been calling on the developers to either seriously nerf or remove the mech completely, or at least have it shuffled off into it's own special game mode. Fans feel that the mech is so overpowered it's ruining the game.
The missile launcher and fire 10 missiles simultaneously, dealing huge damming and tearing it's way through buildings and player structures.
As you can see from the video below, players are getting completely overwhelmed by the mech, who's attacks are often so quick that players simply don't have a chance to dodge or defend them.
Even the Fortnite World Cup solo champion, Bugha, got completely destroyed by a couple of novice players spamming the missiles. Streamers across the scene have made very similar complaints, sharing similar videos.
There's only a handful of mechs that spawn in each game, and even though they require two players to operate effectively, one player can jump between the drivers seat and the gun turrets and cause absolute mayhem, especially in solo games where it often just comes down to the few players who found a mech.
As of writing, Epic Games have stayed quiet on the whole affair, and it seems difficult to imagine that they can change the rules of the season mid-way through, even if we are just two days in. Hopefully they do listen to feedback, though, and syphon this off into it's own mode, if not right away then at least for next season.
