The growing popularity, and subsequent money train generated by Fortnite shows no signs of slowing down yet, with the latest initiative by Epic games being announced this past week, and it's called the Support-A-Creator Event.
The way it work is quite simple, players are able to given some kickback to their favourite content creator, weather that be a streamer, YouTuber, cosplayer, or whatever, when you spend V-Bucks on in-game items. Think of it as a sort of Amazon Affiliate program.
The event starts next week, and runs until the end of this year. A new menu item will allow players to enter the Epic tag of the Creator they want to benefit from their big spends, and for every 10,000 V-bucks that creator has had spent towards them, they will earn $5.
Only regular content creators can apply to be part of the scheme, and they must have something of a decent following of at least 1,000 subscribers on their platform of choice, but this very much a way to incentivise these content creators into producing more Fortnite content.
So it'll be interesting to see how this plays out, but it is a limited-time deal and Epic have also gone on record to say that there could be changes or 'unexpected outcomes' along the way, considering the event to be something of an experiment, stating that they've never run something on this scale before.
If you happen to be a Fortnite content creator with at least 1,000 followers, you can find out more about the program and apply at the Epic Games website.
