There's nothing I love more than a viral marketing ARGs (Augmented Reality Games). They don't always work out well, mind, I remember the time Sega scattered a load of realistic looking severed limbs around London holding copies of the newly released Madworld as a marketing stunt. That went well.

Anyway, this past week, Fortnite decided to get onto the bandwagon when the Durr Burger mascot in Greasy Grove disappeared in-game through a rift. Slightly unusual, but there's a lot of questions about Fortnite that are never really explained, so, just one of those things, right?

That is until photographer Sela Shiloni, who by the way, isn't a gamer and has no idea what a Durr Burger is, happened to come across this, sitting in the middle of the California desert, alone, kinda minding it's own business;

Fans found the image and immediately identified it as the missing Durr Burger, leading to many gamers to go out and visit for themselves, including members of the DooM clan, who, as well as finding the burger, also found an abandoned police car and signs saying "This site is unstable. Beware of possible effects" and "If you can read this, you're in range of the anomaly".

Some of gamers who have visited the site have also been approached by a man who simply handed them a business card before walking away. The business card has written on the front "Agent #3678" and had a phone number on the back, which, when dialled, plays a distorted version of the rift sound effect from the game;

So, an interesting, slightly unusual marketing stunt for Fortnite, but what does it mean? Some fans are hoping it means a desert map is coming soon, as the rifts that are now present in the game, including the one that has transported the poor Durr Burger to our realm, are part of the build up to Fortnite Season 5.
