Fortnite Season 9 is coming to a close, and it looks like that there's going to be a big event happening when it does, as countdown timers have appeared around the map.

The timers are counting down to 7pm BST on July 20th - when the season draws to a close - and we presume that something big is going to happen. It may be that the timers just run out, and nothing happens, but this is Fortnite, nothing is ever that simple...

As for what happens, there's a few theories floating around. There's a giant robot currently under construction at the Pressure Plant, in the volcano's crater, which may be unleashed upon players. There's also the so-called Cattus Monster, which has been seen in the distance off the coast.

There's one more clue, too, which is a public service announcement poster that has appeared around the game that stated players should "take to the high ground" when "danger strikes" - perhaps a battle between the two?

In any event, we expect something big to happen, which may result in big changes for the next season.
