Ubisoft was founded in 1986 by the Guillemot family, and has since then bestowed upon us a whole host of great games, from the Assassin's Creed franchise, Call of Juarez, Driver, and the Rayman universe.

This year, they'll be releasing the first movie based on an original Ubisoft game; the Assassin's Creed movie, starring Michael Fassbender. Additionally, they're also turning 30, and to celebrate that, are giving away some free stuff!

The first game given away in this (half-year long celebration?) is Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. It's a reboot of the original side-scrolling arcade game, and takes you to 9th century near-east as you battle through the creatures created by the titular Sands of Time and try to save the city of Azad from destruction.

It also features some sweet time controlling mechanics, allowing you to reverse time if you fail during a platforming session, or freeze enemies in place. It's arguably the most popular entry in the franchise, and most certainly a great place to start if you're not familiar with the games.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time will be available at the Ubisoft Club until July, where a new game will be cycled through. It requires you to have a UPlay account, but once added the game will remain in your account indefinitely.
