A Reddit user has proposed to his partner by inserting a proposal into the game FTL.
FTL may be known for its challenging gameplay and rogue-like sensibilities, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for a little love in its universe. Take, for instance, the action of one gamer who recently used the game as the platform of his real life marriage proposal.
The proposal came from Reddit user oft_wears_hats who, with the help of a few the FTL aficionados, crafted a custom encounter that he then slipped into his partner’s copy of the game. The encounter involved her ship happening upon another vessel captained by Mr. Hats who promptly pops the question in-game.
Amusingly, he also included a bevy of alternative dialogue and action options on the off chance that she said no. These ranged from marrying “your clone instead” to explaining “the concept of love to” an Engi crewmate. These happily wound up being unnecessary however as she responded to his proposal with a “yes.”
