Gears 5 will be introducing a brand new "arcade mode" to it's multiplayer offerings, which it's hoped will allow multiplayer to become more accessible to players.
There's a current crop of gamers who don't play multiplayer at all in Gears of War, and instead stick exclusively to the single player campaigns. The very competitive nature of PvP can be a discouraging thing, so the new mode is hopefully a way for more casual online gameplay to take place.
The mode will allow you to select a character role with unique abilities and equipment. Gamers will be able to earn skulls in the mode, which will be used to unlock upgrades later down the line. Skulls are earned by kills or assists.
It's an interesting new game mode, and there's full details of the reveal on the official Twitch stream, embedded above.
