We've reported previously about the beta testing for The Master Chief Collection for PC, which kicked off with Halo: Reach and resulted in the test version being leaked more widely. 343 Industries are continuing on, though, and we now know that Firefight mode will be tested next.

Firefight is the game's co-op hoard mode, and sees players teaming up to take on increasingly difficult waves of enemies, similar to other wave survival game modes.

The company detailed the plans on their official forums;

#FireFlight is the team’s next flighting goal which will offer Firefight matchmaking to you on PC.  While things may shift, we’re currently targeting this milestone for later this month. The team is beginning to review release candidates that have the core features to support this flight. Keep your eyes out for upcoming news articles in the near future!

According to the company, 60% of invitees took part in the last beta, and gamers scored the game a 4.6 out of 5 during feedback surveys.
