For gamers who already own the Witcher 2 on PC, a free upgrade to the Enhanced Edition will be available as of April 17. Given it’s a 10 GB download, you’ll be able to predownload 95% of the package starting April 11, leaving only a few hundred MB for April 17.
CD Projekt is also offering 1000 free reviews copies that it will send out to gamers on April 12th. Interested players need only head to thewitcher.com/review by April 9th and fill out a small form explaining why they should receive a copy, and are then encourage to share their review on Facebook.
As of today, the Witcher 1 Enhanced Edition is available for Mac exclusively through Steam, and an interactive digital Witcher comic is coming to iPhones and iPads April 17th; readers swipe their fingers across the have Geraldt slash a foe with his sword, or — no joke — pull down a woman’s blouse. Best of all? It’s free.
Also starting April 17, anyone who purchased the Witcher 2 — from anywhere — can download a free digital backup copy through gog.com. All you do is insert your key and you have a 100% DRM-free version of the game at your disposal indefinitely.
