InXile has been hard at work at Wasteland 2 since it was successfully funded on Kickstarter some months back. The studio has, over the last few months, released screenshots and artwork of the game’s development-in-progress, which includes crowdsourced assets.

Today, the studio released a “first look” of the role-playing game in the form of a video and an extensive update by the game’s developers on their Kickstarter page. The footage takes viewers on a tour of an area in the game called the Agricultural Center, with an overview by the game’s development director Chris Keenan.

The video showcases the game’s combat system, HUD, skill system, and keyword dialogue system—the last of which isn’t unlike the dialogue system in the original Wasteland, released two decades ago.

“This first level you will see is one of the first areas you will encounter in the game. The agricultural center was also a part of Wasteland 1. It was an area that Chris Avellone had some affinity for and he did the design for the level.”

You can watch the video below.

In addition to the video, the developers have also posted two pieces of concept artwork and a new track by Mark Morgan, the composer of Fallout’s music.
