Just Cause 3 Multiplayer Mod Preview has landed

Great news Just Cause 3 fans, a much-anticipated Multiplayer mod, created by modding team Nanos, has just had it's first preview release, and is now available for anyone to try out.

The Nanos team have been working on the mod for some time now, and were one of two multiplayer mods in development for the game. Unfortunately, the other mod was cancelled when it's mod author was hired by the game's developer, Avalanche. Development on Nanos' version continued, however, and they have managed to put out a solid first preview.

The experience is pretty solid, although it does require you to host your own server to play, so your experience may vary depending on the quality of your connection and the distance your fellow players are from you.

There are a few expected bugs, though, which the development team are currently aware of. Standing on top of vehicles, such as cars, is currently a bit of a strange experience to say the least. It's also possible to get stuck into walls or scenery when teleporting, for example.

There's a few there minor issues, too; for example, helicopter rotor blades are not in sync, footsteps are somewhat out of sync at times, and sometimes the wrong sounds are played if another player generated the sound.

The big problem, though, is spawning is a bit of a pain currently, as it does take a long time before the game is able to spawn you back into a game.. The other thing to bare in mind is that world damage is not synced between games, which is a little bit weird at times.

Overall though, and do keep in mind that this is a first release technical preview, it's impressive what has been accomplished, and once these niggles and bugs are ironed out, this will be one very solid multiplayer experience.
