Christmas is nearly here, so naturally there's a few holiday themed mods making their way out to general release - one of them is "Winter Is Coming" for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which transforms the environment into a snow-covered land.

While not exactly Christmas-themed per-say, the mod, created by KNGR, gives the game a fresh new winter feel, with snow, barren trees and foliage, and icy waters - it's a perfect fit for the time of year, and makes the game look surprisingly fitting for the season.

There's a few textures that might stand out as being oddly textured in this version - the reason for this is the author hasn't quite managed to re-do all of the textures just yet, so there's the odd noticeable oddity, like green leaves or roofs lacking snow. It's also worth bearing in mind that the recent DLC expansion, "Blood and Wine", isn't covered by the mod, so there'll be a jarring change in season when travelling to Toussaint.

But despite these minor oddities, the mod does look wonderful and gives a refreshing look to the game. There's similarities to be drawn in style to Skyrim or Game of Thrones in vibe, especially when in forest or mountainous areas.

This is a must-have mod if you're playing The Witcher 3 over the holiday season, and can be downloaded from the official Nexus Mods page.
