Microsoft love using the general public to test their products through their 'Insider Programs' - the most famous of which is the Windows Insider program that famously lets really insane bugs slip through the net. There's others, though, including the Xbox Insider and Halo Insider programs, and now it appears, the rebooted Microsoft Flight Simulator is getting one too.
The insider program will give successful applicants an early preview of the game in order to test and give feedback, along with getting inside knowledge of development.
Registration will start for the Insider Program in August, and late August is when we expect to get more details on the first insider build and when it is expected to drop. Following this, in September, Microsoft will be revealing plans for how they'll keep it's insiders up to date on development and integrate the flight sim community.
You can read all about the proposed Insider Program here, but suffice to say I'll be signing up. I'm pretty excited to get my hands on this game, the first true Microsoft flight simulator since the classic Flight Simulator X, and it looks absolutely amazing.
