Tired of waiting for the Street Fighter 5's unlikely to ever arrive Arcade Mode, one mod author decided to see if he could create his own version before Capcom could release theirs - and although it's not yet ready, progress is steady.
Mod author Resvrgram has decided he's bored of waiting for the mode that may never come, and has decided to create his own from scratch. It's understandable - it's somewhat inexplicable that the game hasn't got an Arcade mode, given the franchises' heritage, and despite much anticipation from fans for such a feature.
The mod is quite comprehensive and a lot of thought has gone into re-creating an authentic Arcade Mode experience.
Apart from several different difficulty settings and full character selection, the game does the traditional two rounds per opponent, before being presented with another random opponent, eventually cycling through the entire roster.
ResvrgramThe game sold for $60 USD at launch without it and, as of this video, there is still no officially supported Arcade Mode for Street Fighter V (that awful Story Mode doesn’t count).. With that said, I started this project because I had some free time on my holiday break and thought I’d have a go at a game that’s been collecting dust on my hard drive. This mod is a combination of scripting sequences of CPU opponents in Versus Mode and adding in some new UI elements to accommodate the Arcade Mode’s dependencies (a Continue Screen, etc.). I got the idea while messing around in Versus Mode while growing impatient with the online matchmaking.
Sadly, the mod author has decided not to release the mod to the public as of yet, perhaps testing the waters of any potential conflict with Capcom. Despite this, even as a mod for a game that didn't have the mode in mind, the experience is pretty solid. Hopefully, with enough demand, the author will eventually release this to the public.
