Yooka-Laylee is a recently released game by Playtonic Games, and is a spiritual successor to the old Banjo-Kazooie titles. Although the game has only been available just over a week, one modder has already brought the game to SteamVR

Playtonic Games is made largely up of former Rare developers, and the game is, for all intents and purposes, a spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie. It harkens back to the golden age of Nintendo 64 3D platformers, but that does not mean it isn't able to embrace future technology, as modder Eusth has demonstrated.

The mod he has created allows you to play the game with the SteamVR powered headsets. The experience is very similar to the Oculus Rift game Lucky's Tale, and involves looking down on Yooka-Laylee in a third person perspective, while still controlling the game in the traditional way with a controller.

While the game does not officially support any VR capabilities, therefor you should not expect a perfect experience, but reviews so far are extremely positive, and it definitely adds an exciting new twist to a classic platforming experience.
