News is coming from NetherRealm Studios that the team are working towards raising the current 30fps frame rate cap to 60fps, addressing one of the biggest complaints from PC gamers.

While we've covered already a pretty awesome mod that does this for you, and also adds ultrawide support among other tweaks, we're hoping that by adding official support, the performance issues that currently prevent the game getting to 60fps at times will be addressed as part of this update.

Fatilities, fatal blows and Krypt mode currently suffer from the cap, with the Krypt mode in particular suffering very  bad performance issues when the mod is used - but the good news is, the team have confirmed that "the option to increase the caps in those areas to 60fps" is something the team is working on with more details coming soon.

Stay tuned to GameFront for more on this as we learn it.

A fighting game that doesn't run at 60FPS these days is pretty much inexcusable, a fighting game plays best when everything is running smooth. I could live without 21:9 and what not, but a good framerate is always a must to me.
