Morrowind is an old game now in the series, but there's no denying that it still has a fan following, and the modding scene is still very much alive and well. Team TES3MP have just completed what is arguably the biggest mod for the game yet - multiplayer.
Achieving multiplayer in such an old game, which was clearly never designed with such functionality in mind, has been difficult. Many have attempted it before, but never quite made it work. The difficulty has been in something called NPC Sync, simply put, making sure all players see NPC's in the same place, performing the same actions, without them behaving erratically.
The team have managed to overcome this hurdle however, and the newly released mod has full support for NPC sync, meaning a seamless online multiplayer experience.
The mod relies on OpenMW to run, which is an engine modification to Morrowind to allow expanded modding possibilities. Once this is installed, the mod can be downloaded from the official Steam page site.
