We mentioned a few times previously that there was going to be testing for an as-yet unknown Resident Evil game, what we didn't know until now is exactly what that game was shaping up to be. We've now learned that the game will be a spin-off, and will be focused on team-based combat.

We suspected that a team-based game may be in the works when screenshots of the game leaked online, showing four different characters with a very much Left-4-Dead vibe.

The official announcement included a new trailer for the game, which will be titled Project Resistance. Apart from the highlighted RE, there's no direct reference to Resident Evil, but it is part of that universe, and will see the team of four fight hoards of zombies.

We don't have much more by way of details yet, other than the trailer above, but stay tuned to GameFront for more on this as it happens.
