You might have heard that Ninja Gaiden 3 is being absolutely eviscerated by critics, at least in early reviews. Our review will be up shortly, and I can assure you it will not contain an outlier opinion on the game‘s overall quality. If you’re on the fence, an early sign of the game’s issues for anyone who hasn’t picked it up might be the news that the online pass required to access multiplayer was broken. Thousands of purchasers fired up their copy and entered the pass code only to learn that it doesn’t work. Oops.

Fortunately, Team Ninja quickly acknowledged the problem on their Facebook page in a statement posted earlier this afternoon. “We are aware of the issue with the Online Pass for Ninja Gaiden 3 and are working to resolve the issue,” the statement says. “For those of you with the PlayStation 3 version of the game, the online pass will be redeemable by 4pm Pacific time. For those of you with the Xbox 360 version, we are currently working with Microsoft to resolve the issue and we will keep you updated. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this matter.

Both problems should now be fixed. I can at least verify that is the case with the Xbox version of the game. But what about it, PS3 owners? Is it working for you? let us know in comments, along with your thoughts about the game.
