GoldenEye was probably one of - infact no - the best shooter that the Nintendo 64 ever saw in my opinion, so it's great to see that there's a fan remake of the game now in the works, utilizing the Unreal Engine 4 platform.

GoldenEye Source brought the game to PC before, although it's graphics have not aged well. This new project is a total HD remake, with brand new textures and maps. The Silo mission has already been completed, and there's an amazing trailer of this down below, but the team hope to create the entire single player campaign.

Known as GoldenEye 25, the remake is aiming to be completed by August 2022, which will be the 25th anniversary of the original release of the game on N64. T

The team confirmed that they'll be creating assets from scratch and that there will be a new original soundtrack which will aim to "capture the mood" of the original.

The team have a page over on our sister site, IndieDB, so be sure to check it our and follow the updates there.
