Outward is already considered something of a cult classic among the RPG genre, and it's still being widely supported with brand new content and fixes coming. There's now a new major content patch available, which adds a new ame mode, a bunch of fixes and even some new boss batles.
The new game mode, known as Hardcore mode, makes the already challenging game even more difficult. The death mechanic is turned up to 11 - in the main game, when you die, you don't just respawn as if nothing had happened, you're usually dragged off into a cave or wake up in a prison, among other scenarios, giving you a real reason to avoid dying.
In Hardcore mode, you'll even moreso want to avoid it, as there's actually a small chance that you'll die forever instead - and loose all of your progress - something video games really lack these days.
In addition to this new Hardcore mode, players can also enjoy some brand new boss battles hidden during the endgame, which is an interesting addition, as well as a whole host of bug fixes.
