Overwatch, the popular team-based First Person Shooter that was all the rage before these things called 'Battle Royale' games came along, is free to play all this bank holiday weekend, so if you haven't yet had a chance to try it, now is the perfect chance.
It comes about as the game celebrated it's second birthday this past week, and as well as being free to play all weekend, a new deathmatch map, and skins have also been released to keep current players happy.
All you need to play is a battle.net account. All 27 heroes are unlocked, as well as all the game modes, except for competitive play. It's certainly a good way to jump into the game if you've never tried it, though. The game includes 27 heroes, 18 maps, and several game mods you can try, including Quick Play, custom games, and Arcade Mode.
As with games like this, you can level up your character and unlock cosmetic upgrades and emotes for your character, as well as earn loot crates, and these will be retained if you do decide to jump in and buy the full game.
Personally I've never tried Overwatch, so I'll be giving the Free to Play a try, but I did enjoy the similar title Paladins, which is free to play on Steam, so no doubt I will enjoy this too.The free weekend ends on Monday at 11.59pm PT.
