Palworld gives Starfield and Baldur's Gate 3's player records a run for their money

In just six hours after Palworld had launched, the Pokemon-esque Shoot-em-up had managed to smash Starfield's concurrent player record on Steam. After 24 hours, the game was giving Baldur's Gate 3 some serious competition too, with a whopping 815,000 concurrent players on Steam - and here's the kicker - that's even considering the fact the game is available on Games Pass for PC.

Palworld has become a smash hit seemingly out of left field, thanks to its intriguing combination of survival gameplay, farming mechanics, and what fans are describing as "Pokemon with guns." The game has some spicier elements despite its cute on-the-surface appearance, which may be adding fuel to the fire.

The game, developed by studio Pocketpair, has rocketed to the top of the Steam charts since releasing, and it's popularity is showing no signs of slowing down. Our resident video producer Morgan has been checking the game out over on our YouTube and Twitch channels, if you'd like to check it out and see what the fuss is for yourself.

The game is also gaining some attention right now for some of the, shall we say, more adult content within the game, including one X-Rated "pal"named Lovander that looks like a giant ping salamander. It's number 69 in the Paldex, and according to it's blurb, is “Seeking a night of love, it is always chasing someone around. At first it only showed interest in other Pals, but in recent years even humans have become the target of its debauchery.”

If you want to grab the game, then it's available now on Games Pass, or available on Steam in Early Access.
