Music 4 Games has put out the word that Michael Gluck, better known as “Piano Squall”, has put out his first album, GAME. Working together with Electronic Arts, Michael will donate 20% of the profits of GAME to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Michael has a history of performing anime and video game music piano concerts for charity.
“I am always exploring new ways to combine my love of videogame and anime music with my mission to fight Multiple Sclerosis, and I couldn’t be more excited about the launch of GAME,” said Michael. “I watched my grandmother waste away in a chair, completely paralyzed by MS for the last ten years of her life. We must cure this horrible disease as quickly as possible.”
GAME will feature Michael’s signature piece, “Final Fantasy Battle Medley”, and other selections from Final Fantasy as well as familiar tunes from Super Mario World, Tetris, Chrono Trigger, Mega Man, and Chrono Cross. Anime selections include Cowboy Bebop, Naruto, InuYasha, Full Metal Alchemist, and Evangelion.
GAME can be pre-ordered from the official Piano Squall website. There is an incentive Bonus track for pre-ordering the game. The CD comes out June 30.
I’m familiar with some of Piano Squall’s work, including “Final Fantasy Battle Medley”. Michael’s a technically brilliant pianist, and his compositions are stellar. Combine that with a chance to aid charity and this is an album I can feel good about purchasing.
