Posted on November 7, 2013, CJ Miozzi Poll: More Gamers Will Buy A PS4 Instead of An Xbox One

According to a recent poll on social polling site 1World, more gamers will buy Sony’s PlayStation 4 rather than Microsoft’s Xbox One.

Live since July, the poll has garnered 1,584 responses to date, so the results should be taken with a grain of salt. 47% of voters fall into the 40+ age group, and 61% are male.

The poll found that 55% of respondents are more interested in purchasing a PS4 instead of an Xbox One — I bet these numbers were skewed much more heavily toward the PS4 immediately after E3.

Respondents under 21 years old were the most likely (64%) to be interested in purchasing a PS4, compared to 55% of respondents age 21-40 and 45% percent of respondents over 40. It seems the PS4 is being better received by the younger demographic, whereas Microsoft’s “one box to rule them all” strategy is playing better with the older crowd. Given the majority of respondents were in the 40+ group, I imagine we’d see the overall numbers lean more heavily in favor of the PS4 had the age distribution been more even.

PS4 or Xbox One — which will you buy, and what demographic do you fall under? I’m a male in the 21-40 group, and were I not a PC gamer, I’d buy a PS4.
